Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Howdy! My name is Amelia. I was born in Alabama about 3 months ago. It was nice there, but then I heard how nice Wisconsin people are. So, my brothers and sisters and I hitched a ride here on the Sandi Paws van so that we could hopefully find our forever homes! Since I have gotten here, I’ve been living with a foster family. They have other dogs, and I really like to follow them around the house because they’re teaching me how great it is to be in a home. Humans are also very interesting. My foster dad says I’m his new shadow, but really, I’m just curious about what the heck he’s doing all the time. There’s also these things called “Cats” here. They seem cool. I’ve been trying to be friends with them, but they usually just run away. So, I’ve kind of just stopped paying attention to them. I’ve learned that it’s cold here in Wisconsin. So, when I get taken outside I try to potty as quickly as I can and then dash back to the house. My fosters say I’m doing pretty good at not having accidents though, so that’s good. I’m really trying! Anywho, I really love couch cuddles with my humans and the other dogs, and I love burrowing into blankets. They have these “antler” things here that I really like chewing on. I also really love seeing how fast I can run around my current home, and sometimes, I get really involved into trying to catch my tail. It’s so good at avoiding me! I don’t understand how it’s so fast! If you think you’d like to meet me, please visit https://www.sandipaws.org/adopt and fill out an application. My foster parents said they’re more than happy to answer any other questions you have. But, I’d love to brighten your day and spend some time with you! Thank you for your interest in a Sandi Paws Rescue, Inc. Please visit our site at sandipaws.org for more information on our organization or to fill out an application to adopt one of our pets. You can find information for volunteering on our site as well.

Additional adoption info
See our adoption process at www.sandipaws.org/adoption
A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.
Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
