My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Harlowe!! I've been in WI for a couple of weeks now & I love it here! Here's what my foster family has learned about me so far......
I'm 2-3 years old, I'm a little too round at 70+ lbs, but I'm having lots of play & walk time now so I'm slimming down! I've never had an accident in the house, sleep calmly overnight in my crate but am now trusted to choose where I sleep so I pick a dog bed in the bedroom (you'll have to wake me up in the morning, I like my sleeps!). I'm super friendly with all the people I meet, although hats & hoods can make me nervous since I can't see the person well, so I get a bit barky until I see another dog or a person, I trust greet them. I have gotten along great with the other big dog in my foster home, we run & wrestle & chase. I can be a bit bossy, so would do best with dog friends that are okay letting me run the show sometimes. I'd also be fine as an only dog, since I love as much love from my humans as possible. I'm super cuddly & submissive to my people, I melt into them when getting attention. I'll do anything for attention or a treat, I'm super eager to please. I'm good on my leash walks until I see a squirrel, I'm learning I can't go after them when I'm connected to a human. And I am calm and quiet on car rides, don't shoot out doorways, & am learning to sit & settle for *everything*, I'm a fast learner! I haven't met kids but I'm so gentle I think I will love them. I haven't been around cats yet.
I'd love to show you my loving & gentle personality, so get your application in!!

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application at rescuegang.org/adopt.

Step 1: Submit an Adoption Application.
An adoption is not considered without a completed application. This step will let us know if your household is what our animal needs to feel safe and comfortable!

Step 2: Background Check, Landlord Check, Vet Check
We will check to make sure that you do not have any violent charges, are allowed pets where you live, and will check with your vet to make sure your animals have remained up to date on testing, vaccinations, and checkups.

Step 3: Meet and Greet
If approved, our adoption coordinator will set you up with the foster parent’s contact information. It is up to you to call the foster parent and schedule a meet and greet.

Step 4: Home Visit
One of our volunteers will come to your house and conduct a home visit with the help of a checklist.

Step 5: Adoption Decision
Rescue Gang will decide if both parties would make a great fit for each other! If so, we can go about finalizing your adoption! Please keep in mind that an approved application does not necessarily mean that you *are* going to be able to adopt the animal you applied for.

Please note:
An approved application means that your have passed the initial screening process and may proceed to the following steps. The animal you are interested in may have more than one application and may have already found his/ her forever home before you are able to meet. In that case, your application will remain active for 90 days
