Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I came to ECCHA as a stray. A few words to describe me are: Intelligent, Active, and Playful! I LOVE treats, playing, and running around. I did great with other pets in my foster home. I come with a training requirement. I need a home with no kids under 13 and with an owner who will train me with positive reinforcement. Our vet will consult with my adopters. More about me: JD was a perfect gentleman in his foster home. He really enjoyed running and playing with his foster siblings! He also did excellent with the cats in the house, often times just ignoring them if they approached. JD will need to go to a home with no kids younger than 13, as he has shown some herding behaviors towards younger kids. He does well in his kennel but could use additional positive reinforcement to ensure he knows it is a safe space. JD can come off very nervous, he does not respond well if he thinks something may happen to him so will react to yelling, a leash pop, or his kennel as punishment. It is vital that his adopter continues training using positive reinforcement only so he can continue to be a great canine citizen. Potential adopters will have to speak with his foster (our on-site veterinarian) about positive reinforcement and training before adoption.
