My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut was saved from being euthanized by her abusive owner. Peanut is around 1 yr old, weighs 30lbs, spayed and fully vaccinated. Please carefully read the rest of you are interested in giving this sweet girl a forever home.
Peanut was and still is a broken soul as her previous owner must have been an awful person!
Peanut needs time to adjust to new people and to earn their trust. It took me about five days for her to understand that I wasn't going to hurt her. She would fear growl and whine when I would sit next to her. On the fourth day I could tell she was learning that I was a safe person and on the fifth day she was in my lap 🥰
Once she knows you are not going to hurt her then you are a friend for life as she is one of the sweetest pups I've ever been around.
Peanut does well with the pups we have introduced to her, and she loves to play but slow introductions are a must as I waited for her to trust me before I introduced her to other pups. She also does well with our cat and tries to play with him.
She does well on a leash but will pull from time to time. She is crate trained and will hold her pee all day, literally! She must have been kenneled for hours and hours at a time as she will only pee twice a day and poop once a day. I used pee pads in the beginning with her because she would freeze when I tried to take her outside. She now does great outside, but I have no idea what her cues are for needing to go potty. She also likes riding in the car.
She absolutely loves me and my husband, and she has started coming around to my oldest son BUT she is still extremely scared of our 8-year-old son and will bark at him. He is also pretty rambunctious and that seems to scare her. I've been introducing her to new people and it's going slow, but she has been coming around and it will just take time for her to know that not all people are mean and abusive.
