My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Luna. I am from Missouri.

From her foster: Meet Luna, a sweet and playful bundle of joy with a personality as unique as her looks! Luna is a medium-sized dog with a soft, fluffy coat and the most endearing, quirky ears that seem to have a mind of their own. To top it off, she has the cutest little dot on her nose that adds even more charm to her already adorable face. Though she can be a bit shy at first, Luna warms up quickly and reveals her cuddly, affectionate side. She loves snuggling with her favorite humans, making her the perfect companion for cozy evenings at home.

Luna is crate trained and finds comfort in her crate, often retreating there to relax and sleep. She is mostly potty trained, though she has had a few accidents when we didn’t realize she was waiting patiently by the door to go out. With some continued attention and training, she’ll have this skill perfected in no time. Luna is learning boundaries, as she still has some puppy tendencies, and will thrive with a family that can provide gentle guidance to help her grow into her best self.

Luna does wonderfully with both cats and dogs, often trying to engage them in play. She loves running around the yard, chasing stuffed animals, and playing tug, which is her absolute favorite game. Her love for toys knows no bounds, and her playful energy is contagious. On leash, she’s a star and enjoys walking with her humans, exploring the world around her with boundless curiosity.

If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who is as cute as she is fun, Luna is the perfect match. With her quirky ears, adorable nose dot, and big heart, she’s ready to bring joy and laughter into her forever home!

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

For more information on fostering or adoptable animals, please visit https://www.thebondbetween.org.

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
