My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lilly is an 18-month-old black-and-white Labrador with a heart as big as her journey has been. This sweet girl has endured abuse in her past, leaving her timid and unsure. But in the safety of her current home, Lilly has started coming out of her shell, showing glimpses of the happy, loving pup she’s meant to be.

Lilly’s ideal home would be one where she’s the queen bee or has companions her size or smaller. While she gets along wonderfully with Frenchies and a Golden Doodle, she’s been selective with bigger dogs, showing some nipping and growling behavior with a Newfoundland. For now, she’s being kept separated for everyone's safety.

Here’s what makes Lilly shine:
Crate Trained: Her crate is her happy place.
House Trained: No messes, just manners.
Fully Vetted: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and ready to go!
Love Bug: Once she feels safe, her sweetness comes through in spades.

Lilly needs a home with:
A patient and experienced owner who understands her past and will help her thrive.
Love, stability, and someone willing to give her the fresh start she deserves.

Paws From Afar believes that all dogs should have adventures as often as possible; they need a change of scenery, smellery, new paths to explore, or oceans to swim in.

Pet insurance is required prior to pickup, please make sure you calculate this into your monthly expenses we recommend Trupanion Why Trupanion? 1) Coverage for all new injuries and illnesses 2) They pay directly to the hospital or facility 3) Unlimited payout for the lifetime of your pet. Please send a copy of your policy to deb@pawsfromafar.org

Lily's adoption fee is $350 and will be transported up here once she is adopted. She is up-to-date on all vaccines and will be altered when they arrive to you, The adoption fee is $600. The adoption fee includes all vetting and transport from Texas. If the pup is still listed, then they are still available. Keep in mind that we bring our dog up from the south and if you require a meet and greet, we are not the right rescue for you, we are happy to put you in touch with the pups fosters prior to adoption.

To submit your adoption application, please visit pawsfromafar.org.

Please refrain from sending "I'm interested" messages. If the dog is still listed, we will reach out to you if we decide to move forward with your application. Thank you for your understanding!

More about this rescue

We are a 501 (c)3 foster-based non-profit community of volunteers dedicated to finding forever homes for animals in need of adoption. Overcrowded animal shelters in the south and LA euthanize almost 70 percent of their animals due to lack of space or funds, and that is where we step in...We want to bring joy and tail wags to everyone we work with.
