My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bernard, the sweet and curious boy who has truly blossomed in his foster home! Bernard is the perfect mix of playful and laid-back, making him an ideal companion for just about any family. This smart guy has already mastered several commands, including sit, shake, stay, and sit up. He’ll even let you know when it’s time for a bathroom break—he’s got manners to match his smarts!

At around four years old, Bernard has the appearance of perhaps a Catahoula Leopard Dog, with a striking look that turns heads wherever he goes.

Bernard is a social butterfly on his daily walks, happily greeting both humans and dogs along the way. He also gets along wonderfully with his foster housemate, a sometimes-crabby Miniature Pinscher, showing just how easygoing and patient he can be.

Not only is Bernard crate trained, but he absolutely loves car rides! Whether it’s a quick trip around town or a longer adventure, he’s always happy to hop in and enjoy the ride.

Bernard came into the Humane Society under tough circumstances—he was underweight and missing much of his fur. But with lots of love, care, and a steady, nutritious diet in his foster home, he’s made dramatic improvements. His fur is growing back beautifully, and he’s steadily gaining healthy weight. Bernard’s story is one of resilience, and he’s ready to continue his journey with a forever family that will give him the love and security he deserves.

If you’re looking for a loving, smart, and loyal pup who’s ready to be your best friend, Bernard is your guy. Come meet him and see just how special he is—he’s waiting for you!
