My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Figgy is a 5 year old, 27 pound Boston Terrier that was used for breeding. At first she was a little overwhelmed by the big scary world, but after only a short time in foster she has really turned around. She hasn`t learned about toys yet, but that is about the only hurdle ahead of her. She is sweet, cuddly, very curious and a bit precocious. She already knows how to go up/down stairs, open doors if not shut tight, find the softest/warmest seat in the house, walk on a leash to go potty and go to the door and ring bells to go out. She approaches strangers without fear and just asks that you get to her height and pet under her chin or offer your hand palm up rather than going straight for the top of her head.

Figgy is good with other dogs her size, and will seek out puppies if she hears them. She might really enjoy having a fur sibling to introduce her to even more joys in life, but that is not necessarily a requirement. She would also likely be good with kids who respect her space and don`t startle her. She did not react to the kennel cats in pens, but she is starting to show interest in squirrels and rabbits so she could be tested with a dog-savvy cat if necessary.

In general her favorite thing in foster by far has been couch cuddles. She would also really like whatever you have on your plate, but isn`t very interested in dog treats. She is a sweet, quiet girl looking for a calmer home with people that will worship her like she deserves.

Additional adoption info

Our process includes the completion of an application Upon completion of the application we will:

Contact your vet for information on current and previous animals. It is critical that you have authorized your vet to release information to us.

If you are a renter, we will contact your landlord for verification of animal acceptance, or you can provide a copy of your lease.

Complete a background check using publicly available information.

If applying to adopt a dog, we will complete a home visit which requires all household members to be present.

After the approval is complete you will be free to meet our animals. When meeting dogs, all members of the household as well as any dogs will be required to meet prior to finalizing any adoption.
Our process is thorough and allows us to make every effort to identify the right match for your family. Please be forthcoming of all information during the process as that is what allows us to find the match. Adding a new family member is FOREVER and will adjust your free time, finances and overall life style. Animal adoption is a serious decision.

JR's Pups-N-Stuff, Inc. is a volunteer based organization. Most volunteers have full time jobs and families. Our dedication to helping each and every animal find the right match can take time. Please understand and be patient during the process. Thank you.
