Foster or Forever Home Wanted: Meet Mistletoe!!!
Mistletoe was found abandoned in a local park. She was very ill and emaciated (see her last two pictures). Lucky for her it was in Long Beach as the shelter staff immediately rushed her to an emergency vet to get her stabilized. No one is sure what the underlying cause of Mistletoe’s illness was, but they suspect some type of toxicity poisoning. Once Mistletoe was stabilized, we rescued her and moved her to our vet for further treatment to assist in her recovery. Mistletoe is charming all the vet staff and is now ready to start interviewing a foster or better yet forever family. Mistletoe is a white boxer about a year old according to our vet (the shelter thought 6 months but she was in very rough shape when found). Mistletoe is underweight and will need to gain weight in a healthy controlled manner. We suspect she’ll fill out to be 50-60 pounds. Mistletoe is sweet as can be and gets along fine with people and other dogs (cats are unknown). Mistletoe is your usual young goofy Boxer who enjoys rocking sweaters in the winter. Like most young dogs she will likely need some leash training. But Mistletoe is eager to please and wants to be your best girl. Mistletoe would love to find a real family this time around who will love and care for her. If that family sounds like yours, email dogs@labradorsandfriends.org or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org Mistletoe is located in Southern California.
