Meet this sweet 4-year-old Chihuahua Dachshund mix, a gentle soul who is making wonderful progress in her journey toward finding the perfect forever home! She’s working hard on her housebreaking and is already crate-trained, showing that she’s a smart and adaptable girl. She’s good with other dogs, though she can be a little mouthy at times—nothing that a little patience and guidance can't help with!

This sweet girl takes her time warming up to people and is still learning to trust. Once she feels safe and secure, however, she becomes incredibly attached and is a super snuggly companion. She loves playing with balls and ropes, and there’s nothing better than cuddling up on the couch with her favorite person.

Loud noises, new people, sudden movements, and cold weather aren’t her favorite things, and she can get a little nervous in these situations. Zola would do best in a home where someone is around a lot—whether it's someone working from home, retired, or just someone who has time to dedicate to her. She needs one safe person she can rely on to help her feel comfortable and loved.

Her ideal home is a patient, quiet household where she can take the time she needs to warm up and feel secure. Once she does, she will be incredibly loyal and devoted to her family. If a particular pooch has caught your eye or if you’re searching for a new furry family member, take a few minutes to complete our online adoption application or stop by our Adoption Events to visit with our adoptable pups.

Our application review team will contact you as they process your application and check with your references. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, but our primary responsibility is to find the best home for each individual dog and the best match for you and your family regardless of application order. We want to see that every animal and family are well-suited as a forever match.

Our adoption fees vary by the animal’s age and specific breed. All adopted dogs will receive vaccinations against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus, as well as flea/tick treatments and de-worming. Dogs who are too young to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies will receive vouchers to one of our local veterinary partners.

Adoption Events are held on Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM at our storefront Adoption Center, located at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein. We are also available to schedule individual Meet-and-Greet appointments during the week.

REACH Rescue Inc. rescues dogs and cats that are stray, abandoned, relinquished, abused, neglected, or have run out of time at public shelters and scheduled to be euthanized as a result of overpopulation. REACH attempts at all times to bring animals and their people together. The Organization is committed to promoting the rescue, adoption, and public education necessary to ensure that all animals passing through our care REACH a stable, healthy and happy life.
