**Meet Hari!**

Hari’s journey to the shelter is as special as she is. Found as a stray by a kind-hearted person walking their dog, Hari immediately showed her friendly side, happily engaging with the finder’s dog. She even walked with them all the way to the shelter! However, once on the property, Hari’s playful and cautious nature led to a wild goose chase as she tried to avoid being caught. It wasn’t until another social dog joined in that Hari finally let her guard down, eagerly playing with her new friend.

Since then, Hari has made great strides but still shows a shy side when meeting new people. For this reason, she requires an adult-only home where she can feel safe and secure. Hari occasionally feels the need to run when nervous, but with patience and understanding, she blossoms into a loving companion who adores cuddles once she gets to know you.

Hari is also a smart pup who knows how to **sit** and **shake**—and she absolutely loves playing with rope toys and squeaky toys. If you’re looking for a loyal and playful companion who just needs a little extra care to shine, Hari is ready to find her forever home with you!

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
