Momo's journey began when he was found as a stray with his brother, Blue, by a kind-hearted individual keeping them safe until they could reach the shelter. Initially, Momo was quite shy, but with encouragement he learned life could be fun and silly with friends.
Although a bit unsure of other dogs, Momo has found his soulmate in Grapes, a female Pyr mix. Watching them play is like seeing two old friends💘 argue over who gets the last slice of pizza—hilarious and heartwarming... play/nap/repeat.

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
