My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Tuna! I was rescued by Smittens with my brother, Nacho because our owner could no longer care for us. My brother and I look very similar, but I am smaller and a little more shy than he is. I’m very calm, but still a bit nervous being in a new place, been taking time to decompress and relax a little. Despite this, our foster is still able to pick me up and pet me without any issues. I enjoying spending the day outside in a catio in a heated bed looking and listening to the sounds around me. I love cuddling up with my brother, Nacho at night and sleeping with him. I’m look forward to finding a forever home to live my best life!

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
