Meet Tobey Maguire, a charming guy who is ready to find his forever home! Tobey is almost fully housebroken and gets along well with other dogs, making him a great addition to a multi-dog household. He’s particularly fond of his teenage foster sisters and enjoys cuddling up with them for some quality bonding time.

Tobey is very affectionate with his foster mom, though he can be a little stubborn at times and may protest when asked to do something he doesn't want to do. He’s still getting used to his foster dad and can be a bit nervous around him, but with time and patience, he is learning to trust. Tobey has just recently started playing with the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys toys as well—his confidence is growing every day!

Tobey's ideal home is one where his family is patient and willing to work with a trainer to help him build trust, particularly with male family members. He will do best with older children. His family must be ready to set boundaries to ensure that all members of the family experience his cuddly, loving side. With the right guidance, Tobey will continue to thrive and become an even more loving and confident companion.

If a particular pooch has caught your eye or if you’re searching for a new furry family member, take a few minutes to complete our online adoption application or stop by our Adoption Events to visit with our adoptable pups.

Our application review team will contact you as they process your application and check with your references. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, but our primary responsibility is to find the best home for each individual dog and the best match for you and your family regardless of application order. We want to see that every animal and family are well-suited as a forever match.

Our adoption fees vary by the animal’s age and specific breed. All adopted dogs will receive vaccinations against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus, as well as flea/tick treatments and de-worming. Dogs who are too young to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies will receive vouchers to one of our local veterinary partners.

Adoption Events are held on Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM at our storefront Adoption Center, located at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein. We are also available to schedule individual Meet-and-Greet appointments during the week.
