Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Q, an 8-year-old black and brown tabby cat with a personality as unique as his name! Q is a quirky and independent cat who enjoys his own company and prefers interactions on his terms. He thrives on playtime with laser pointers, feather toys, and catnip but is equally content lounging in a quiet spot! Q is not a fan of loud noises, vacuums, or strangers, but he’ll happily show his playful side once he feels safe and secure. In his previous home, Q lived with his littermate cat and a calm dog, but he struggled with fear and jealousy, indicating he’d do best as the only pet in a quiet, predictable household. We are requiring he be the only pet-no other cats or dogs in the home! Q’s ideal adopter will have experience with cats and the patience to provide him with a structured routine, a calm environment, and plenty of enrichment. If you’re ready to embrace Q’s unique personality and help him feel at ease, he’ll reward you with moments of playful charm and his own brand of companionship!
Q is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 10-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take Q home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!
If you`d like to meet our available animals, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt
