Hero is a 6-month-old male Black Lab/Pit Bull mix who has already been neutered. He came to PAHS after city animal control was called to pick him up at a local apartment building. The landlord discovered Hero tied to a rail in a bathtub after the tenants moved out---weeks earlier. This puppy was in terrible shape--at nearly 5 months old he only weighed 17 pounds. Hero's condition was so poor that PAHS decided they needed the help of Animal Medical Clinic to try to stabilize and save him. He stayed there for several weeks under a vet's care; and as you can see he is ready for a new start on life. Hero now weighs about 40 pounds; and he has a gorgeous healthy black coat with just bit of white on his chest. Despite the neglect of his previous owners--he is happy-go-lucky and very loving. Hero is playful, high energy, and just full of life! He loves everybody at the shelter; and we believe he would be good with other dogs and children. We think Hero will be a large adult dog who will weigh 50-60 pounds. In case you are wondering--there is a court case involving Hero. He will thrive in a home with a patient adopter who is willing to take up a lot of time with him; and make sure Hero gets lots of exercise.
Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.
