Other important info about me: I was originally adopted as a young kitten from the Houston SPCA and lived my whole life with my adopter; unfortunately they went away and left me behind. The family members they left me with did their best to take care of me, but due to uncontrollable circumstances, they had to surrender me to the shelter. I am used to a quiet household and a single owner, so as you can imagine I am quite confused and scared to be in a shelter. If you give me time I am very sweet and affectionate, and I will learn to love my new home! I need to be in a calm household without young kids. I have shown mixed feelings towards other cats in the past but don’t seem to mind the other cats at the shelter, so it’s likely that if given time to adjust, I could live with other calm and friendly cats. I haven’t been tested with dogs at this time.

Their adoption process

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We are open Tues-Fri 8 am-4 pm and Sat 10 am-2 pm. If no one is at the shelter during open hours, please call 281-576-2417 for assistance.

2.
Meet the Pet

We require all adopters to spend time with the pet they are interested in to make sure he/she is a good match!

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

All adopters must sign an adoption contract, which may require rabies vaccine and/or spay/neuter for your new pet, if not already completed.

4.
Pay Fee

Adoption fees vary from $10-$50, depending on the pet. We accept cash (exact change required), check, or card.

5.
Take the Pet Home

And that's it! You are now the proud owner of a new furry family member and will take your pet home right away.

Additional adoption info

-We do not require an application to adopt! However, adopters are required to meet with pets at the shelter to ensure they are a good fit. Our staff will always strive to make the best possible matches between pets and adopters!
-Seniors for Seniors: Adopters age 65+ can adopt any pet age 7+ for free!
-All adoptions are on a first come, first served basis. We do not hold pets for adoption or pickup at a later time.
-We do not transport or ship pets. All adoptions must take place in person at the shelter.
