FINNEGAN, the Irish-named bundle of joy is ready for a forever! At just over a year old and tipping the scales at 51 pounds, this Pyrenees/Collie mix is the perfect blend of sweet energy and fluffy chaos. With his adorable face, unique markings and heart-melting brown eyes, he's capturing hearts❤.
Being in foster care has been great for Finnegan as he has the opportunity to socialize and play with two other large foster pups. Though his size and enthusiasm can be a bit much on first impression, once he breaks the ice with doggy pals, it's playtime. He has a blast playing and romping with his foster siblings. But don't let his enthusiasm fool you, he also enjoys settling down next to his person, ensuring you never feel alone.
Finnegan is a star on four paws when it comes to car rides and he's already mastered the art of leash training. Although still working on other commands, this intelligent pup is highly treat motivated, so armed with a bag of his favorite snacks, training is more of a game. Recently, he attended a "high school event" packed with teenagers and his behavior was impeccable.

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
