My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hope is our newest addition here at PAWS of GH. She was left on our doorstep in the dark hours of a winter Washington morning. We took her in with open arms while is in search of her forever home. She does the best with our team of lady staff members and is not too fond of men. One of her most favorite activities ever is riding in the car, shotgun of course! She also loves to hang out in her big comfy dog bed with all of her toys. She is very clean and well mannered and never makes any messes in her room. We are taking things slow as she is in the recovery process from her recent spay. We are unsure about her level of friendliness with other dogs as she is currently not showing us that she wants doggy friends. That might change once she is back on her feet but we want to give her the time she needs to heal completely before trying any doggy play sessions. We do believe she came from a home with cats but no official cat test has been performed yet. We are still getting to know her and will update her description with more detail soon!

If you are interested in miss Hope, please fill out an application and schedule an appointment to meet her!

Additional adoption info

Spay/neuter + rabies is included in our adoption fee, but may not be completed by time of adoption due to our limited access to veterinary appointments. We have local partners listed in your adoption contract that you can schedule an appointment with (and are paid by us) or we will reimburse for up to $100 for non-network veterinarians. Microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, flea treatment and dewormer are included.

Go meet their pets

Our public hours are Tuesday - Saturday 11 am - 4pm. Dog meets may be also scheduled on Sunday and Monday by appointment only. No appointment is needed to meet our cats during public hours.
Please note that appointments are highly recommended for dog meets due to limited staff availability, but we do accommodate walk-in visits whenever possible. Additionally, many of our dogs may be located off-site in foster homes and an appointment will be required to meet those pets. We do require a completed application prior to meeting pets in foster homes to preserve the valuable time of our foster families.

More about this shelter

PAWS finds new families for stray dogs and cats as well as owner surrendered pets. We also accept animals brought to us by concerned citizens and local animal control agencies and do our best to find them suitable homes. Our mission is to find homes and offer direct care for as many of these loveable pets as possible. PAWS attempts to prevent the birth of unwanted animals through education and spay/neuter programs.

PAWS of Grays Harbor is a strictly non-profit organization and we survive because of donations from our community. All of the animals we adopt out are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for fleas. Sometimes, the animals we rescue require additional veterinary care. Without your donations, none of this would be possible. Thank you for your support, we couldn’t do it without you.
