Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Reba is a goofy, happy-go-lucky, affectionate 6 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix who loves people, playing outside, and cuddling! She is a bit shy when first meeting new people, but warms up quickly- especially if they offer her a treat! Reba weighs about 40lbs currently and will likely be around 55-60lbs fully grown (she's a shorter, thick little chunk!).
Reba was found as a stray and taken to our local high kill shelter with her twin sister, Jessie. Being the beautiful, friendly girls they both are, we don't know why they sat at the shelter long enough to be put on the euthanasia list! Still only puppies at 6 months old, Reba and Jessie haven't had the chance to experience life yet and we couldn't let that chance be taken from them. We were fortunately able to save them and they show their appreciation and zest for life each day!
Reba is the more outgoing sister and has quite a bit of energy (hence her name). She loves to play but loves cuddling with her people even more! She is a velcro dog and is happy to just be wherever you are. Reba is a smart girl and learns quickly, true to her breed. She is always eager to please and is a great problem solver, figuring out treat puzzle toys fast! She is easily motivated by food and attention, and she'll do her best to do whatever you ask her to!
Reba came to the shelter with a broken hip; something we discovered shortly after bringing her home. Due to this, she had to undergo surgery to correct her hip and is currently on crate rest while it heals. She will need some physical rehabilitation to strengthen her leg again, but she has been such a champ throughout the whole process. She is not able to travel while she's still healing, so she is looking for either a local adopter or foster who is willing to help her through her recovery process.
