My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunday is a gentle, loving, 3 year old, black, DSH female kitty ready for a new home. In her prior home, the owner’s autistic child had outbursts that frightened Sunday so we were asked to rehome her.
Currently in a quiet foster home, Sunday has come out of her shell and is relaxed and loving. Shy at first, she nevertheless made herself at home on the bed and has slept next to her foster every night since. Curious and interested in exploring her environment, her foster said she warmed up so quickly it was like she had been his friend forever. “Her favorite way of expressing love is rubbing her whole body on your legs then falling asleep right next to you,” and “she loves being petted on her head!”

Sunday should be in a home with no other cats and has no history with dogs so might be best adopted by someone who wants her as an only pet. Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, she is young and full of love and will make anyone a devoted companion.

1.
Submit Application

We ask that prior to arrival at the shelter you please either call or email for further details and to get an application for the pet.

2.
Meet the Pet

When you appointment time has been set, we will have you come and meet your pet.

3.
Take the Pet Home

If all goes well the pet can go home with you the same day.

Additional adoption info

Cats $150.00

All cat adoption fees include leukemia testing, spaying or neutering, entire series of vaccines, de-wormer & flea treatment while at the shelter, microchipping, free vet check within 14 days of adoption at any local Columbia County Veterinarian, a complimentary adoption take-home packet and a carrier.

Puppies (under 6 months of age)................................$350.00

Dogs (over 7 months of age).......................................$250.00

All dog adoption fees include , spaying or neutering, current on vaccines, de-wormer & flea treatment while at the shelter, microchipping, free vet check within 14 days of adoption at participating local Columbia County Veterinarian, complimentary take-home adoption packet and a leash and collar.

All adoptions must be reviewed prior to approval. In order to ensure that every dog and cat goes to the appropriate home, Columbia Humane Society reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption application for any reason they see fit. A home check may be performed in order to determine suitability. Columbia Humane Society's kennels are not open to the public, all applications must be filled out prior to meeting with a pet.
