Stromboli’s journey hasn’t been easy. He came to us painfully skinny with the saddest eyes you’ve ever seen. But he is the sweetest boy. He’s been working hard to get back to a healthy weight and now having to be stuck in a cone due to having happy tail which is no fun for any dog to go through. What Stromboli needs is a loving home where he can trade the kennel life for comfort and care so he can get over this. He’s affectionate, gentle, and full of heart – a dog who truly deserves a fresh start and so much more.

*Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL

*The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.

*All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs.

*Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
