My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Luna – the black kitty with adorable ear floofs!

Luna came into the Shelter as an owner surrender with another cat. She was the more shy of the two kitties surrendered and took a bit of time to warm up. After some observation by staff, Luna slowly warmed up and leaned in for pets when interacted with. She may never be a social butterfly and may lean towards the “wallflower” end of the sociability spectrum. In her previous home, she was described as an introvert who takes her time to warm up but when she does, she loves to cuddle and rub up against people.

Luna has a history of living with other cats. A home with other cats that are cat social may help Luna to warm up and learn that the world is not so scary. A home without dogs is required due to her fear of pups in the previous home.

In her previous home, she loved to play with wand toys, mouse shaped toys and her kitty “siblings”.

She was indoors only in her previous home and used her litterbox reliably.

This cat`s adoption fee is sponsored by our Bogey Fund - a fund that shines a light on the often overlooked black cats in Shelters & assist with finding them adoptive homes.

Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
