Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Bird is a young black and white female feist mix who loves the open yard at Saving Grace! She is quick to jump out of her crate and see who is around and what she can get into next! While very curious, Bird is also very calm and can be a bit shy in new settings – likely a trait of her savvy small game hunting ancestors! She does great with other dogs and loves finding playmates wherever she goes! Come out to the farm and find this 29 lb “best cuddler” and see if she would be a good fit in your home!
**Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: " Before we started hiking, I sat with Bird, petting her and encouraging her. She seemed to like being touched, and warmed up even more when she could follow other dogs while waiting to start the hike. She liked being in the middle of the pack and keeping the group together. She kept pausing to see if the dogs behind her were getting left behind. She was such a sweetheart with me, too - she would bound ahead, pulling slightly but not too much, and would pause every few minutes and look back at me until I came up beside her. I would always give her a pat on the head and say 'let's go' and she'd be off again. She was adorable!"

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.
If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
