My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tala is currently enjoying life in her foster home. To meet her, fill out an adoption application and an adoption counselor will work with you to set up a time to for tou and Tala to come to VHS and meet.

Tala came to VHS with her 2 puppies that were 5 days old. They were living outside and the first cold snap was headed our way. She had already lost 2 puppies from her litter. Tala has been a fabulous momma and her puppies are now ready to be independent of her. She loves to play with everyone. She wrestles and plays with her puppies often. She plays chase-me, hunts squirrels, and wrestles with the 2 big dogs at her foster home and with the visiting granddog. On the few occasions when she has gotten a correction from the other dogs, she respects it. This petite girl has blended right in. She is fully house broken. She may take a tissue out of a bedroom trash can, but otherwise has been great in the home. Her foster parents don't contain her when they leave the house since she gets along great. Although, when her puppies were tiny, she was confined in a puppy pen and only complained a little.

Tala has interesting front pinky toes that grow from farther back on her feet than normal. This makes it so they don't touch the ground and have to be kept trimmed, so they don't curl into her toes. When she arrived, one nail was nearly in a full circle. It has taken weekly grooming sessions to get it where it down. She has learned to allow a quiet dremel tool to be used on her toes. She even dozed off during it once. Tala also has a fabulous overbite. When she is excited, she sometimes does a teeth clacking noise. It can be scary if she is in the face. Tala does know sit and is working on down. Her stay is very fidgety. She is young and full of happiness. She is great at letting her people eat in peace. Tala is respectful of the other dogs eating and gives them a wide berth if walking by. Tala will make a great family addition.
