My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 03/13/2019) Jameson is heartworm positive and our rescue is treating him. He is available for adoption within a 1 hour radius of Wake Forest, NC at this time.

Jameson, the irresistibly charming American Foxhound with a heart bursting with love and an infectious zest for life! This playful, fun-loving boy lives for adventure whether it's a thrilling game of fetch, a spirited romp with his doggy pals, going for a joy ride, or simply soaking up the sun's rays while exploring the great outdoors. This dude is definitely gonna want a 6ft solid panel/narrow slatted fence to live his best life. Another playful pup in the home is a great bonus but not a deal breaker if his family is ready to keep him entertained.

Jameson’s heart is as big as his energy, and he’s especially wonderful with kids who can keep up with his playful spirit. But don’t let his fun-loving nature fool you, this guy also loves his downtime! When it’s nap time, Jameson enjoys peaceful slumbers, and he’ll appreciate his rest without sudden interruptions. He's of the "let sleeping dogs lie" kinda of a montra so unless your ready for a little crabby awakening and him "telling" you he was in the middle of his best dream ever, just let him sleep soundly and give him the space to recharge. When he has completed his session of zonked-out-ness, he’ll be back to his affectionate, tail-wagging self in no time!

Belly rubs and cuddle sessions are Jameson’s love language – he’s a pro at turning snuggles into pure joy. If you're searching for a loyal companion who'll shower you with unconditional love and bring endless smiles to your home, Jameson is the perfect fit. He’s ready to fill your life with laughter, play, and, of course, plenty of tail wags. This sweet boy can’t wait to find his forever family – could it be you?

Potty trained, crate trained and learning to walk nicely on a leash are all things cute Jameson is a leg (or 4 legs) up on; great bonus if you want to skip some of that crazy puppy-puppy time! He is good in his crate but also enjoys resting with you on the sofa. This dude can be spry and can door dash with the best of them, so keep those doors and gates securely closed/lock for safety.

Like most hounds, Jameson has a nose that works OT! He is an expert and sniffing out the goodies and the kitchen is a place that he can definitely find some of the best smells. Love to cook? Well, Jameson would have no problem at all "helping" you. Be watchful because he can find a morsal on the counter like nobody's biz! Up, grab, go and all of sudden...it's gone. There will be an empty counter, a full belly, and a big smile from Jameson, but he will never confess!!!

Get this boy on your gotta meet list! You won't be disappointed!

As part of Jameson’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Jameson, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
