My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Love comes in all shapes and sizes, and our sweet Sadie is no exception! This 6-month-old Black Mouth Cur mix may have arrived at the shelter as one of the "plain brown dogs," but she shines brighter than any star! 🌟

A little shy yet overflowing with love, Sadie adores people and gets along famously with her furry friends. She's eagerly waiting and hoping for a forever home, where she can share all of her cuddles and kisses.... it's her turn. Don’t miss out on the chance to meet your new Valentine!

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
