My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ever notice how all the dwarfs in Snow White have names that reflect their emotions or traits—Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy—except for Doc? Did they just run out of ideas? It's a mystery that will never be solved, but what’s definitely not a mystery is how utterly sweet and fun this boy is! Doc may not wear his emotions on his sleeve like the others, but his heart is full of love, and his joy is absolutely contagious. He’s the kind of dog that lights up a room just by being in it!

Doc might be small, weighing in at just 4.5 pounds right now, but don't let his size fool you—this little guy is full of big personality! You won’t need to worry about him taking over your entire couch or upgrading to an SUV just to fit his fluffy self. His mom weighs about 33 pounds, so that’s a pretty good clue about how big he’ll get. Of course, his dad’s breed remains a mystery whispered in the wind, so there’s always a chance he might surprise us! But judging by his current size, it’s more likely he’ll stay compact and cozy—maybe even smaller than his mom. Time will tell! At just 6 weeks old, Doc has already established himself as the “brains” of the family. He’s the pup who figures everything out first, whether it’s a tricky toy or a new adventure. And let’s be honest—just like with us humans, the smartest ones tend to overthink things (cue all of us lying awake at night replaying awkward conversations), Doc wears his heart on his paw and is sensitive in the sweetest way. He absolutely adores attention and thrives on reassurance that he’s, in fact, the very best boy. With his smarts, Doc is a prime candidate for learning all sorts of tricks and games. You know those fancy dog puzzles and those button gadgets you’ve seen on TikTok? The ones your current dog just stares at like, “Seriously? What am I supposed to do with this?” Doc is your guy for that! He’d probably ace those in no time, leaving you in awe of his cleverness.

Just like his namesake in the movie, Doc is everybody’s best friend—whether they like it or not! He’s the kind of pup who firmly believes that everyone is in desperate need of a BFF, and lucky for them, he’s available. Other dogs? Oh, they’re absolutely on his friendship radar. But fair warning: if your current dog enjoys their peace, quiet, and personal space, Doc might not be their dream roommate. He’s all about playtime, tail-wagging devotion, and shadowing them like an overzealous little brother. And don’t think the “purrinators” are off the hook, either! Cats might initially give him the side-eye, but Doc is convinced that his irresistible charm and sheer persistence will eventually win them over. (Spoiler alert: he’s probably right.) He’s like the kid in class who brings cupcakes to everyone’s desk—you can’t resist his enthusiasm forever. Kids are also a big ol’ “yes” for Doc, but fair warning: his puppy enthusiasm doesn’t come with a built-in manual on gentle play. He might mistake tiny hands for chew toys or think his little claws are part of the fun. So, kids who are old enough to understand that he’s not trying to audition for Jaws—and parents who won’t freak out over a little roughhousing and not take his puppy antics too personally. He’s just trying his best to share the love.

Doc is the perfect mix of ready-for-action and let’s-chill-on-the-couch. He loves being part of the family fun, whether it’s chasing the kids around, joining the other dogs in some epic zoomies, or tagging along on your next adventure. Playful enough to keep up with all your shenanigans, but with a built-in off switch, Doc is also a pro at snuggling, napping, and enjoying the finer things in life—like belly rubs and Netflix marathons. If your idea of fun includes hikes, public outings, or just exploring the world, Doc is 100% down. He’s the kind of pup who will make friends with everyone, because, let’s be real, the word “stranger” isn’t even in his vocabulary. But when the adventure is over, he’s more than happy to head home, grab a toy (even if it’s bigger than he is), and entertain himself while you kick back. Whether it’s go-time or chill-time, Doc is the perfect sidekick for whatever life throws your way!

As perfect as Doc is, this little guy is counting on you to show him the ropes and teach him how to be the best boy possible. Yep, it’s time to dust off those puppy training books you swore you’d never need again because.....Yeah... Doc’s adorable little face just made you a liar, didn’t it? And don’t forget to puppy-proof your house—Doc’s keen eye for “treasures” means anything left lying around willy-nilly is fair game. Trust us, he’ll find it, he’ll “customize” it, and he’ll look up at you with those innocent eyes like, “You’re welcome for my artistic contribution.”

If Doc’s Snow White-worthy charm has enchanted your heart and you’re ready to make him part of your happily ever after, then it’s time to begin your fairy tale! Start by filling out the adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app. Once you’ve submitted it, we’ll wave our magic wand (okay, send it to his foster family) to make sure you’re the perfect match—because Doc is searching for his forever family to share his storybook ending.

Currently living his best life in Midwest City, OK, Doc is ready to set off on his next big adventure. Not local? No problem! Pack up your carriage (or, you know, your car) and make it a road trip to remember. Doc is far too special for commercial transport—he deserves the royal treatment, and a scenic drive is the perfect way to bond before he becomes your newest sidekick.
