Hey there, everyone! I’m Maggie, a very sweet, friendly, cuddly mitted “tabico” gal, or tabby-calico, which means that I have patches of black, gray tabby, and orange tabby with white on my paws and underbelly. I love to snuggle with Foster Meowmy at night, but I get grumpy if she moves because that interrupts my beauty sleep!

When we were about two months old, my sister Fanta and I were rescued from Foster Meowmy’s mom’s neighborhood. Originally I was released after I was spayed, and then Foster Meowmy observed that I wanted to be back inside where I’d recovered from surgery. I was so relieved that she noticed because I'd embraced all the amenities of indoor life – brimming food/ water bowls, soft places to sleep, and climate control. I gladly kissed the hardscrabble life of an outdoor stray good-bye. I was much too young, anyway, to forage for food and get soaked by cold, November thunderstorms.

Initially I was a little shy, but it didn’t take me long to discover that my pawrents and the kids in my foster family are very kind and loving. However, I still don’t trust the resident dogs. Now I’m ready to embark on the new adventure of finding my forever family. Could that be you? If you’re longing for a bedmate to keep you warm on chilly winter nights, I’m the snuggle bunny for you! Adopting an animal is a very serious decision and we want to be sure that our potential adoptive families have thought about the impact of this decision carefully. To adopt an animal through HOPE, we request that you complete an Adoption Application, a copy of which is available online for cats at http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php or for dogs at http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php. You may fill it out online or print a copy of the application and complete it prior to arriving at an adoption session. This will expedite the adoption process and will also assist our adoption counselors in matching you to a suitable pet.

We at HOPE make every effort to match our foster pets to appropriate homes. If you feel that we are too intrusive, please understand that it is because we care about their welfare.

Fees
All animals are neutered or spayed and have received age appropriate shots prior to being adopted. We ask that you provide a $100 donation for cats and a donation of $150 for dogs when you adopt your new family member from us. This donation helps us in defraying the costs of these and other medical needs of our animals.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to end the homelessness of cats and dogs through foster to adoption, feral cat Trap-Neuter-Return, and education.

HOMELESS & ORPHANED PETS ENDEAVOR (HOPE) is an all-foster, no kill adoption group based in the Houston area.

HOPE covers the cost of general medical expenses for the animals in the program, such as altering, routine vaccinations and treatment for parasites. Our foster families are asked to provide food, shelter and love to the animals for which they care. They receive no payment for the services that they provide. Without them, and the other volunteers who so selflessly do what is necessary to keep HOPE afloat, it would not be possible to run this nonprofit corporation.

One aim of HOPE is to develop a network of area rescue and humane organizations which will facilitate the rescue and placement of a variety of animals. The goal is to never have to turn away an animal in need. By forming a coalition of humane and rescue groups in the Houston area, we could potentially place all animals who need a temporary home until they are placed into a permanent one.
