Hello there! I’m Link Hogthrob, a 4-year-old mixed breed pup who hails from the cold mountain tops of West Virginia. While I may be a little shy at first, once I warm up to you, I promise you’ll see just how sweet, gentle, and loyal I truly am.
Like my Muppet namesake, I may not be the loudest guy in the room, but I’m full of charm and have a heart as big as my adventurous spirit. I might be a little reserved, but with the right person, I’ll show you just how lovable I can be! I’m the kind of pup who’ll take things slow at first, but once I trust you, I’ll be your quiet, loyal companion.
Here’s what you can expect when you adopt me, Link Hogthrob:
Shy but sweet: I may take a little time to warm up, but once I do, I’m an affectionate and loyal pup who will always want to be by your side.
Gentle and laid-back: I’m a bit of an introvert, so I appreciate peaceful moments and quiet cuddles. If you’re looking for a calm, sweet companion, I’m your guy!
Playful when I’m comfortable: While I’m on the quiet side, I love to play once I get to know you! I enjoy toys and light-hearted games, especially if you’re gentle and patient with me.
Affectionate and loving: Though I’m not always the first one to jump up for attention, when I feel safe and loved, I’ll be your quiet, cuddly sidekick, always ready for a snuggle.
A true loyal companion: Just like Link Hogthrob, I may be a bit shy, but once you gain my trust, I’ll be fiercely loyal and love you with all my heart.
Ideal Home:
A family or person who is patient, understanding, and ready to give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable.
Someone who loves quiet moments and is looking for a dog who appreciates a peaceful and loving environment.
A home where I can have plenty of gentle playtime and cuddle time—with the right person, I’ll open up and become your very best friend.
Other pets? I’d likely be great with other calm, laid-back dogs that will give me the space to adjust at my own pace.
If you’re looking for a gentle, shy, and loving pup who will be your quiet companion and show you nothing but loyalty and affection, then I, Link Hogthrob, am the one for you! Give me a little time to open up, and I’ll show you just how sweet and charming I can be. Adopt me today, and let’s create a bond that will last a lifetime.

Find the pet for you at the Adoption Center:
Angels of Assisi’s adoption center is open from 12-6pm, 7 days a week. Adoption Specialists and Volunteer Ambassadors are eager to help you find the pet that would fit best in your family.
Adoptable Pets in Foster Homes:
Some of our available pets are currently in foster homes. If an animal is currently in a foster home, it is noted in the animal's biography online. To meet a pet in foster care, please fill out a non-binding adoption application, and the foster parent will contact you to schedule a meet and greet once the application has been approved (generally within 24 hours).
Found the perfect addition to your family? Now what?
The next step is to fill out an adoption application. You can complete and application online (preferred) or stop by the adoption center to fill out a paper application. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. If you rent your home, we will need to contact your landlord or see a copy of your lease to verify the pet policy. Most applications can be approved within 24-48 hours.
Taking Your New Pet Home
After paying the adoption fee and pending the approval of your application, you may take your new pet home immediately. Adoption fees may vary and can be found on our website at:
