My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peanut: Your New Best Friend

"Good grief, why haven’t you adopted me yet?" That’s what Peanut, the most loving 11-year-old tabby, would say if he could talk. With his soft, brownish-grey fur and gentle demeanor, Peanut is a perfect companion for someone who values quiet evenings, cozy cuddles, and playful moments.

Peanut’s favorite thing in the world is hanging out with his favorite male human, but he’ll happily snuggle up to anyone who treats him kindly. He’s a champion laser light chaser, a catnip aficionado, and a jingle ball pro. When he’s not playing, he loves curling up next to you—on the couch, in bed, or wherever you are.

Peanut thrives as an indoor-only cat and doesn’t mind sharing his space with other calm, well-introduced feline friends. However, he’s not a fan of rowdy cats or the unpredictable energy of young children. He’d prefer a quieter home with older kids or adults who can match his mellow vibe.

At 11 years old, Peanut is the perfect mix of playful and laid-back. He’s neutered, healthy, and ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will bring a little bit of joy (and maybe some catnip-fueled shenanigans) into your life, Peanut is your guy.

So, what are you waiting for? Adopt Peanut today, and together, you’ll have your own “happiness is a warm cat” story.
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
