My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Miss Joy is approximately a year old and weighs about 30 pounds. While she’s a big of a Heinz 57 breed-wise, we think she definitely has some corgi in her. In her foster home, Joy has blossomed from a shy, scared girl who had been dumped in the orchards of Bakersfield to a vocal and talkative sweet girl who loves to cuddle. Despite being dumped, Joy is an amazing dog and has not let her rough beginnings affect her joyful spirit. Joy is crate trained but prefers to sleep in bed curled up behind your knees with you if you’ll let her. But don’t you worry, Joy will tell you one way or another when it is time to wake up in the morning! Joy is great with big dogs and small, and she enjoys playing and wrestling with the other dogs in her foster home. She is a little more cautious with men,and takes just a little bit longer to warm up to them, but she now happily snuggles with the men in the foster home too! Joy doesn’t play with toys much, but she does enjoy chewing on benebone/nylabone bones. While with her foster, Joy has not been around young children, but as long as the children are respectful, I am confident Joy would do well with people big and small. Seeing Joy come out of her shell has been amazing, and she deserves the best life and a furever family to call her own.

Go meet their pets

Life Savers Animal Rescue has no physical shelter. Animals are housed in foster homes, so in order to meet a dog, an online application must first be completed and processed and approved. Then a meet and greet will be arranged. This process may be delayed should there be many applicants for one dog, so your patience is appreciated.
