My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $650, plus tax
Location: Foster Home

Cosmic (short for Cosmic Brownie from the snack cakes litter) is a sweet, playful, curious puppy. He is a smart boy who figured out how to "escape" his pen containing he and his littermates. Don't let that deter you - he jumps free to find a better place to potty than his pen before putting himself back to bed in his pen (imagine his foster mom's surprise when she got up one morning to find all the pups safely contained but a potty mess just outside the puppy pen!) Cosmic is a gentle soul who loves people, other dogs, and kids - he'd likely get along well with dog-savvy cats, too!

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
