My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sandor. This cute boy with such a sad looking face is available for adoption. Sandor is a super friendly, good natured and loving boy. Sandor gets along with other dogs and doesn't bother cats. He is house trained and good with kids. Sandor loves to run in the yard and also hang out with people. He would love to have another doggy sibling to keep him company and lots of tennis balls to play fetch with. Please help him find a home to call his own.

From His Foster:
Meet Sandor, or as we call him, Mr. Sanderson, the cuddliest, goofiest, and sweetest boy around! If you’re in need of a lap dog, look no further—this guy will happily claim your lap as his personal throne and shower you with all the snuggles. He’s a total love bug who thrives on attention, and he’ll melt your heart with every nuzzle. He’s also an absolute playtime enthusiast! He gets along with other pups like a champ, so if you’ve got furry friends, he’s ready to make some new BFFs. His goofy antics will keep you laughing, whether he’s chasing after a ball or just rolling around in pure joy. Now, let’s be honest—like all curious explorers, Sandor’s got a little mischief in him. When left alone, he’s known to check out a few things around the house, but hey, that’s just his adventurous spirit! When meeting new people, he might bark a little out of excitement or anxiety—don’t worry, though! It’s just his way of saying "hello" in the most dramatic fashion. Once he gets to know you, he’ll be your best friend for life. This little dude is the perfect size and age, being about 35 pounds and 3 years old. So, if you’re looking for a sweet, playful, goofy guy who’ll shower you with love and make you laugh every day, Mr. Sanderson is your guy!

Additional adoption info

Adoption Process:
1.Fill out an application
2.Meet & Greet
3.Adoption contract & adoption fee

For an application go to: www.OscarAnimalRescue.org

The adoption process is to first fill out an application. You can go to www.OscarAnimalRescue.org to fill out the application. Once we call your references and if its a good fit for all, we schedule a meet and greet.

Our dogs/cats are not first come/first serve. We place our dogs/cats with the home that is the best fit for them. Not all animals are good in all homes, whether it’s their personalities, nature, or breed. We base our decision on what’s best for the dog/cat and the family. Thanks for understanding!

Please remember everyone who resides in the home must know about the adoption, and its not a surprise to any member of the family. We need everyone to be on board about adopting. Thank you for understanding.

Go meet their pets

PLEASE NOTE:

Our shelter is not open to the public and is by appointment only. That's because at OSCAR, one of our highest priorities is the health and well-being of the animals in our care. Unlike city shelters or pounds, whose residents are in place for a short time, as a no-kill shelter, our pets are often with us for weeks, months or even years. The shelter is the only safe place and home they know. When strangers, even well-meaning ones looking to adopt, walk through the shelter, it stresses our animals. We make appointments for potential adopters that submitted applications that have been approved through our process to meet our dogs either in our BarkYard or one of our meeting rooms. We’ll spend as much time as you need and introduce you to as many animals as you’d like to meet in order to make the best match and help you find the perfect new family member!

We hold pet adoption events as much as possible for anyone interested in our animals. It is a great chance for you to come down and meet a bunch of dogs/cats before deciding who is a good fit for you. If you are coming to an adoption event to see a certain dog/cat, please email ahead of time to make sure that dog/cat will be there that day. Please email 1-2 days before the event, as some animals are placed during the week and our list is constantly changing. Individual meet and greets with specific animals are by appointment only.

An approved application must be on file prior to scheduling of a meet and greet.
