Hi, I’m Goose! I’m a sweet and playful pup looking for my forever family. Despite being deaf, I’m full of love and energy. I’ve lived with another dog before, and I just want to play, play, play! I don’t always understand when playtime needs to stop since I can’t hear corrections, but I promise I’m all heart. I get super excited when people visit, sometimes jumping to show my enthusiasm—it`s just my way of saying, `Hello, friend!` I’m learning house manners and do my best to go outside every couple of hours. If I have to wait too long, I might have an accident, but I’m trying hard to improve. If you see me by the door crying, that’s my signal that I need to go out. I know how to sit when you use a hand command, and I sleep right in bed with my people—I`m a cuddler at heart. When you’re away, I stay safe in my crate. Walks are fun, but I might pull a bit—I’m just so excited to explore! Toys? Oh, I LOVE them! Let’s play fetch or tug-of-war anytime. I’m always ready to share my joy with the world. We believe that bringing a new pet into your home is an important decision so you’ll have plenty of time to make your decision without feeling rushed. Staff and volunteers will be available throughout this time to answer any questions you may have. Once you’ve made your choice, an adoption counselor will review the adoption contract with you.
You’ll pay the adoption fee. Then you’ll take your new family member home with you!

TAILS Humane Society is a limited admission animal shelter providing a safe haven for almost 2,400 animals each year. We are committed to providing each animal the time and medical care they need to have their best chance at adoption.
TAILS was established in 1999 by a group of local animal advocates dedicated to bringing a comprehensive animal shelter to DeKalb. We operated out of an old farmhouse until 2005 when we cut the ribbon on our Barber Greene facility. In 2009, we opened our low cost Spay/Neuter Clinic providing quality, affordable sterilization services to the public. We continue to grow and strengthen our programs and service as we continue to save lives.
