If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Rehoming a Rescue Malinois.
-Maverick is a male Malinois, neutered, and approximately 2 years old.
-Located in West Orlando.
-Crate-trained and tethered. Basic obedience (sit, down, place, leash walking).
-had him for six months, working on socialization, desensitization, and confidence-building.
-looking for a forever home where he can continue to work on these skills and grow in the right environment.
-Maverick was a stray in the woods for over four months when he was a puppy. Due to his difficult upbringing and the need to fight for survival, he is fear-reactive toward other dogs. After 2-3 months, I was able to trust him off-leash and alone with my Aussie. Despite his reactivity, I recommend a dog household with an owner who is willing and knowledgeable about how to manage this transition. I want him to go to a home that will continue safely desensitizing him to other dogs. I’ve been a stepping stone in his journey, and he needs someone who can keep working with him.
