Leonard is a stunning young male cat who came to us with lone kitten syndrome. This caused him to exhibit some destructive behavior initially. However, because of the right playmates and environment, he has improved significantly in his behavior!

Leonard still requires plenty of attention and playtime, so he needs a home with playmates and lots of love. All our cats are chipped with our address. In case one of our adoption pets goes missing, the chip will refer back to us as a safety measure.

More about this rescue

We founded the Duette Animal Rescue Team (DART) in 2020 in Manatee County. DART is a volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing former domestic and exotic pets such as prosimians and cats with behavioral challenges. We learned about the plight for exotic pets held in captivity and lack of understanding of the care they need as wild animals. We support causes that advocate for the conservation of these species in the wild in their native countries. By working with a network of zo's, private owners, zoo staff volunteer advocates, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, trainers, and shelters,
DART strives to rescue animals and provide these animals with behavioral rehabilitation and care. We catch cats to assist with the management of stray cat overpopulation in the community. We rehabilitate the cats so that we can put them up for adoption and have a better quality of life. For example, cat litter box training and socialization.
