Hello there, I'm Orangutang. I've got a heart as big as my name, and I'm always ready to share my sweetness. I'm a friend to everyone I meet, and I've never met a lap I didn't like. I've got a purr that could soothe the most troubled soul. I'm not one for adventures or climbing trees, I'd rather curl up next to you while you read a book or watch a movie. I'm quite the conversationalist too, I'll listen to your day and share a few meows of my own. Why should you adopt me? Well, I believe that every home needs a little bit of sweetness, and I've got that in spades. I promise to be the best friend you never knew you needed.

All adoptions must be done in person. Prospective adopters must meet the pet and complete the adoption application and questionnaire during the initial visit to our shelter at 2802 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA.

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
