My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Maxene, a tiny but mighty chihuahua born around July 7, 2023, and weighing almost 5 pounds. This sweet little girl came to us scared and unsure, seeking a safe and loving home to help her blossom into the confident, cherished companion she was meant to be. She will need a home who can work with her on her confidence build up, and give her time to come out of her shell.

Maxene’s gentle and shy demeanor will tug at your heartstrings, and with time, patience, and lots of love, she’ll warm up to her new family and show her sweet personality. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and loves having canine friends to lean on for companionship and confidence.

Her adoption fee is $300, which includes her spay, negative heartworm test, up-to-date vaccines, and prevention (ProHeart and Bravecto). Maxene is currently located in Texas but is eligible for transport to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), or anywhere along the East Coast. Please note there is an additional transport fee of $225, and we cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.

Maxene is ready to find a patient and loving family that will give her the chance to grow and thrive. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this adorable and deserving pup, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Maxene is eagerly waiting for her forever family to show her what love truly means!

Additional adoption info

Adoption application is required. Applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. A picture of your home or yard may be requested

All dogs and puppies are fully vetted prior to adoption (spay/neuter, rabies, 3 DHPP, bordetella and heartworm test/treat if positive) and are micro-chipped.
Our fees start at $200, transport out of Texas is arranged by us and is generally an additional $200.
We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet. Our contract requires if an adoption does not work out the dog is to be returned to us. We need at least two weeks notice.
