COPPER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Copper Best Guess for Breed: Beagle/Hound Mix
Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of January 2025 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 28 lbs as of January 2025
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested Copper with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Copper could live with a cat, he/she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! We have not seen Copper with children, but can test him.
Currently Living at: Shelter - Copper needs a foster to make his way to DC!
Special adoption considerations: When Copper arrived in the shelter, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Copper would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.
Copper is Looking For: A loving family to take him on long sniffy walks so he can put his hound nose to good use! Cooper wants nothing more than a safe and comfortable home with a bed of his own, a family to give lots of treats and pets, and lots of opportunities to play with fellow doggy friends. Do you have room in your home for this sweet boy?
What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! We will update this once Copper has spent time in his foster home.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
