Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ms. Stormy—a dainty little blue/gray girl with super-kitty-hero strength and endurance. You would never suspect it by looking at her now, but she has braved and beaten a life-threatening illness and a treacherous beginning. She and her other tiny siblings were found in a cardboard box, deserted. They were all in bad shape, but poor little Stormy was next to death. The vet gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving the day, after she had been given fluids, meds, and a blood transfusion for severe anemia. All the kitties were infested with fleas, but Stormy was thought to have lost the most blood, thus resulting in severe anemia. Miraculously, Ms. Stormy bounced right back and began to thrive for a couple of weeks. Then a sudden downturn again and multiple diagnostic tests to try to explain the return of severe anemia without any flea infestation. After more fluids and meds and another blood transfusion, it was determined that she had contracted a bacterial blood parasite carried by fleas! So, she started on another round of meds and started bouncing back again, and this time for good! She has fully recovered now and has come into her own loving, purring self. Pick her up on your shoulder and the purrs start immediately. She’s a great lap kitty too, and bed buddy who sleeps all night. But don’t think she doesn’t have plenty of spunk and energy--she takes on her adult foster cat siblings and gives them a run for their money! She’s just the best, all-around loving, miracle kitty who has come a long way and deserves her new happy home as soon as possible!HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.
