This is a unique breed to us here at the shelter, and haven't seen it for a while. This guy was from a breeder and the owner asked us to find him a home as they were in over their heads. We were told he was AKC registered, but there was no proof provided, so we are unable to verify the information. He is clearly an Old English, but is smaller than breed standard. He weighs 78 pounds and we are told he is about a year of age so may have some additional growing. He is very sweet. The person who had him prior only left him outdoors, but we would love to find someone who will work to train him to be a house pet as well. This boy was really not given the attention he deserves, but he is still a very good natured dog. He came in extremely matted, so we had to get him groomed and unfortunately, his coat was so matted, he needed to be stripped. His before picture shows his grown out coat, so you will have to use your imagination for a little while!! His tail has not been docked. Gandalf will require regular brushing to keep him from getting tangled in the future. We are told he has been comfortable around young children and gets along with other dogs. Not tested with any cats. $400.00 adoption for this unique boy. This will help us a bit with his neuter, vaccinations, microchipping and the grooming costs. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
