My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet and social OBI (previously named Obi-wan) may just be the cat you’re looking for. He is a young shorthaired black-and-white tuxedo boy with a cute black spot on his white chin. Easygoing Obi warms up quickly to new people and situations and loves being where the action is. He’s a big fan of interactive toys and catnip. When he’s not playing, he enjoys sprawling out with his favorite human and watching the cat channel on TV. Obi was brought to our cat rescue when his owner was no longer able to care for him. If you’re looking for a devoted feline friend who’s always happy to see you, Obi would be a wonderful addition to your family.

OBI has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. Obi is currently on a Urinary Tract Health prescription diet, and his adopter should work with their vet to come up with plan for him. You can meet OBI inside our partner Wags! Dog & Cat Emporium, 136 Oakway Rd, Eugene OR 97401 (Open 10-6, Tues-Sun). Then submit an adoption application for consideration online at www.CatRescues.org/forms, or fill out a paper copy available at the store, and an adoption counselor will contact you. The $155 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
