My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Chloe and I am looking for a forever home.  I came into foster with 21 other dogs from a hoarding situation in south GA after Hurricane Helene came through.  All my friends have been adopted but it was discovered I was pretty pregnant and gave birth (my son Joey is also looking for a forever home).  It took me a little while for my milk to dry up as they said I was such a good momma to my baby.  Based on what my foster mom was told, I am probably a mix of chihuahua along with poodle or maybe even a maltese. My foster mom says to tell you sorry she didn't take better pics of me, that I am super cute in person but I was so excited on being out I was being a little on the squirmy side.  I am not even 9lbs and at around 2 years old I'm not expected to get any bigger.  I do have lots of energy and love playing and getting attention from anyone willing to give it.  I've gotten along with all of the other small/medium dogs I have met while in foster and have shown some mild curiosity in the cats I have encountered.  I enjoy my food and treats which I take gently.  I have done really well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding, but I will let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you as I would much prefer to be out with you.  I am still learning that thing called a leash and will need a little more training to get it down pat so I would love a physically fenced yard in order to take care of my business and explore safely.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Their adoption process

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized.
