Meet Gracie: A Sweet and Gentle Spirit

Hello, I’m Gracie! They say I’m full of grace, and that’s how I got my name—and it fits me perfectly! At just a year and a half old, I’m a 55-pound bundle of sweetness with a gentle heart and a playful streak.

I get along well with other dogs and can peacefully coexist with cats, though I’m still figuring out what to make of them. I’m a little shy when meeting new people, but that’s because my early life wasn’t easy—I was used for breeding when I was just a pup myself. But don’t worry, I warm up quickly, especially if you join me in a game of “chase me to get the ball.” It’s my favorite!

I have medium energy, which means I’m ready for playtime when you are but also happy to settle down and relax with my favorite humans. I absolutely adore being around people of all ages, and my gentle nature makes me a joy to have by your side.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to save the lives of dogs facing euthanasia in high-kill shelters nationwide by pledging funds that enable rescues to take in, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. On occasion, if we do not have a local rescue in place in the city the dogs are in, we bring them to Illinois to avoid their euthanasia. They are placed in boarding for vetting, once done, they are promoted for fostering or adoption.
