My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A COLLECTOR OF CUDDLES:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 13 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Meredith!  I came to Mostly Mutts – scared and shy – from animal control and boy, was I glad they were able to rescue me!  It didn’t take me long to show everyone that I’m a cuddle bug with a darling, yet a little shy, nature.  I just went into a foster home, so there should be even more information about me soon.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but I did come in with a friend that I like walking with, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I met kids around 10 years old and a little younger at Mostly Mutts and was very scared of them, so I think I would be better with older calm kids (age 15+) in my new home, please.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I arrived at Mostly Mutts unsure and timid.  My new situation did not make sense to me.  So, the volunteers took it slow with me and – with their love and patience – I am enjoying their company and showing them that I’m a wonderful ‘little doll baby’ – cuddling with my bather and snuggling into the towel after my shelter bath.  Now, I even give hugs in appreciation for the attention that comes my way! / My energy level is 3-5.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t think I know any commands yet, but I’m sure you can teach me some!  I am excellent at snuggling and being adorable – I think those are the best skills to have. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  My main mission? Cuddle, cuddle and cuddle some more!  I’m happiest when I am snuggling into my person!  I’m sure we can find lots of other things we’ll enjoy doing together too! / Other than being afraid of the kids I met and being rushed into a new situation, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have mild tartar and staining on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I am looking for a loving home where I will get all the love every doggie deserves!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
