My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Leo. I'm quite the mellow fellow, preferring a good nap over a chase with a toy mouse. I'm also very sweet, known for my friendly purrs and gentle headbutts. I enjoy the simple things in life, like a warm lap to curl up on or a quiet afternoon watching the world go by from a window sill. I believe in making every moment count, filling it with kindness and warmth. If you're looking for a friend who will bring tranquility and sweetness into your life, I could be your perfect match. Why not consider giving a home to a friendly, mellow cat like me?

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
