My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age:1.5

Weight: 76

Location: New Hope, PA

Good with other dogs?: Yes.
He's very submissive and will pancake himself to the ground. As soon as he knows it's okay (either vocal reassurance "It's ok, Buzzy" or welcoming, loose body language) he jumps up though and wants attention. He does this with humans and dogs.

Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat

Good with children? OK for kids over: 10

Activity Preference: Needs a couple walks a day., Needs in-house activities, Up for a long hike any day., Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Will go with the flow

IQ: Smart

Buzzy's favorite things: He loves other dogs and playtime, He loves to snuggle w/people and other dogs.

Buzzy is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, walking on a leash, cuddling, playing, following commands

Ideal home: another dog, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard

Training Needs:

Health issues: none.

Meet Buzzy

He's a cuddler. He loves to lay on the couch with us or on top of us. He's not pushy about it though. If you ask him to move or get off of you, he will. He doesn't do much licking or "kissing".

He sits for treats without you even asking and he takes them gently.

He rides very well in the car. He did end up in the front seat with me but curled up into a little ball and slept.

He walks well with only a leash and collar.

We've had absolutely no accidents in the house. He's very well trained, he even barks at the door to let us know when he needs to go out.

Right now we're feeding him Fromm Four Star kibble and a little bit of raw.

PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless pet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to American Bulldog Rescue, 4 Terry Drive, Suite 1D Newtown, PA 18940 or paypal AmericanBulldogRescue@verizon.net. We cannot place dogs in homes with children under 10 unless that dog has lived with kids or is in a foster home with kids. Thank you.

To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Visit our Adoption Policies web page for more information and a link to our application: http://americanbulldogrescue.org/adoption-policies/.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To adopt one of our love-a-bull dogs, you must submit an application on our website at www.americanbulldogrescue.org. Applications must meet minimum requirements (policies are listed our site). Applicants have their vet and personal references checked . The next step is a home visit by one of our volunteers. Finally, the applicant will be put in touch with the foster family to arrange to meet the dog! If a happy match is made, the applicants sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation. The donation is usually $400.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events will be posted on our Facebook page. Our foster dogs live in homes with our volunteers. We do not have a facility where interested people can visit the dogs. If you are interested in meeting any of our dogs, please submit an adoption application available on our website.
