Howdy! My name is Big John and I am one big fine fella! I was found by a kind neighbor as I was roaming around a neighborhood looking for food and shelter. After checking around the neighborhood and posting on Facebook she called the shelter to pick me up. I was actually glad to ride in with the deputy. I was tired of looking for safety in a neighborhood I didn’t know. I was given a big dog run, a big bowl of food, and a nice comfy bed. I was never claimed by my owner and now I am up for adoption. I am a shepherd/husky mix that is about two years old. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. I am a big guy weighing in at about seventy-six pounds. Yep, seventy-six pounds of love and fun!

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.
