My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luna is approximately 3.5 years of age, around 48 pounds, spayed and fully vaccinated Siberian Husky breed. She is crate, potty & leash ~~but by any means is not perfect in these areas at all times!!

She is affectionate, calm but playful once comfortable. She gets along well with other dogs, adults and children alike. Given her adaptability, she should be able to learn your family’s routine rather quickly and become part of the gang in no time!!!

Unfortunately, her previous owners turned her loose on the streets; Luna tested positive for Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis but with medication she has been cured and is now flourishing under the loving care of FHSTJ. (Oct 2024)

Luna has a lot of love to give and longs for a family who can provide her with the affection and attention she craves. She deserves a warm and loving home where she can feel cherished as a member of the family and never abandoned!!!

We take great care in being sure that each adoption is a good fit for both the animal and the adopter. Once the adoption is finalized, after a 1 week trial period, we follow up with the adopter (sometimes more time is needed) making sure that the pet is well adjusted to its surroundings and its new owner.
We also ask that they take the adopted pet to their Vet to have the pet checked out even though we have done so prior to the adoption.

We have adoption events almost every weekend. Our Adoption events take place at Petco & Petsmart, our adoption partners. We also participate in other adoption events in the city of San Diego, CA, i.e., the Doggy Street Festival (at Liberty Station) as well as all the events sponsored by the Animals Support Foundation, that take place in Grossmont, San Diego.

More about this rescue

The greater Tijuana area of 3 million people and thousands of abandoned street animals needs more individuals doing rescues and organizing neighborhood spay events. FHSTJ Does not run a shelter. Instead, it supports grass roots organizations and individual rescuers. This allows us to serve many more animals at any given time, due to this unique system of support. This is accomplished by giving financial support to rescuers and groups which could not function without the generosity of FHSTJ donors.
In summary, we support street rescues, mass spay and neuter clinics, pet owners with extremely limited resources needing veterinary care for their animals as well as public education programs, adoption programs for rescuers, and a pet food distribution program for animals in need.
